Parents may submit their child’s 6 preferred school choices online within the next 7 calendar days from the release of the PSLE results. Parents may do so through the S1 Internet System (S1-IS). It is a 24-hour portal that will be opened for online submission from 11.30 am on the day of the PSLE results release. The posting results will be released online, through SMS and through the student’s Primary school.
Alternatively, the student may have already undergone the Direct School Admission for secondary schools (DSA-Sec) which allows students to apply to Secondary schools before taking their PSLE. Students apply based on their talents in CCAs, and specific academic areas.

Academic Qualifications

Tertiary Affiliation
Students may also narrow down their choices by identifying schools with affiliation to Junior Colleges in Singapore. After going through their Secondary school journey, students may choose to further their studies at JC. Selecting a Secondary school with affiliations to a JC makes the affiliated JC’s O Level cut-off point easier to meet. Students will typically be able to deduct an additional 2 points from their L1R5 score. This is only applicable if the student chooses the affiliated JC as their first choice in the Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE).

10. How is the posting of students to Secondary Schools done?
The Secondary school posting process is based on the student’s PSLE score, order of the school choices and the vacancies left at the selected schools. Student’s PSLE score will be considered first for vacancies in their chosen schools.
In the event that there is a tiebreaker between 2 students, schools will consider each student’s citizenship status, order of school choice and computerized balloting in this sequence.
11. Will my child have priority to the affiliated Secondary School?
The student will be granted priority if the student places the affiliated Secondary School as their first choice. However, this does not guarantee a spot in the school as it will ultimately rely on vacancies available.
