In our recently released Gardener’s Notebook, we inadvertently omitted some information regarding Equisetum in our Living Sculpture article. Equisetum should always be planted in a container or a completely isolated planter bed as it is an aggressive spreading plant and can overtake other plants in a shared space. We apologize for this oversight and thank those of you who brought it to our attention. See corrected Equisetum information below!
Thanks for choosing to garden with us,
Dave Stoner, President, Sloat Garden Center
Equisetum is an ancient, rush-like survivor from the Carboniferous Age that is appreciated for its architectural form. While it doesn’t flower, it is stunning as a container plant.
